Selected Work

Projects demonstrating systems thinking, practical implementation, and operational value.

These projects show how Ryan approaches problems across operational systems, technology and data, and field systems.

Technology & Data

Adaptive Sensor Fabric (ASF)

A proposal submission for the DND IDEaS Urban Intelligence Challenge.

Problem

Urban situational awareness requires fusing diverse data sources — traffic cameras, weather, marine traffic, aircraft, air quality, transit — into coherent, actionable intelligence.

Approach

Designed sensor-agnostic AI middleware using a pipeline architecture for multi-sensor fusion, explainable AI, and real-time processing across 44+ data source adapters.

Operational Relevance

Demonstrates how existing urban infrastructure data can be turned into operational awareness without requiring new hardware.

What It Demonstrates

Systems architecture, multi-sensor thinking, AI/data fusion, infrastructure-level design.

Operational Systems

Store Inspection Platform

Problem

Operational inspections often live in inconsistent checklists, message threads, and manager memory — making it difficult to maintain standards across locations.

Approach

Designed a Laravel-based system for standardized inspection workflows, reporting, accountability tracking, and recurring operational cadence across locations.

Operational Relevance

Standardized inspection routines, improved cross-store visibility into standards compliance, and created accountability through structured reporting.

What It Demonstrates

Process design, workflow systems, operational measurement, practical software application to operational problems.

Field Systems

Mobile Systems Platform

Problem

Off-grid mobile systems require reliable power, thermal planning, storage, durability, and practical field access — conditions that laboratory testing does not reproduce.

Approach

Designed and built a complete mobile platform addressing electrical systems, fabrication, power management, cold-weather operation, and long-term durability testing.

Operational Relevance

A real-world platform for testing equipment, power systems, and products under the conditions they must survive.

What It Demonstrates

Practical integration, field problem solving, real-world constraints, hands-on engineering.
